From our first beach trip as a family, I brought back some of the beach to make a keepsake. I made one for both of my sons and it was in a smaller container. Each of the containers holds something that they each discovered and when they have a home of their own I hope to give it to them.

My family lives very close to the beach and I am always bringing something back when we do find the time to get out there. With this idea, depending on the times we go, I can now commemorate each year with a "keepsake" jar for the current year. I think it will be a wonderful conversation starter around holiday time.
