Make Your Own Snow Bottles

search

Add some winter decor to your house this season and Make Your Own Snow Bottles. To make this winter craft, coat a couple of glass bottles in a few layers of grated Styrofoam, until they are absolutely covered. Pattie suggests using a second layer of glue, if necessary to cover the entire surface area of each bottle. These icy winter decorations will add a little chill to your home this winter. Place them around the house to add a bit of seasonal charm to any room.

I really like the bottles, simple yet creative. I don't like not having any print option. Lately all crafts I like want me to send the idea to Pintrest, FB, etc. I don't care to do that. I just want to print! So I cut and copy to print. If the creator of the design wants it advertised on these sites, he/she should put them there.

pretty good

I'll bet these would be extra beautiful if a string of small Christmas lights were inserted inside the bottles.

My grandgals all want snow...this is so cute and they can have a bit of snow before it comes outside.

Very pretty!

This project would be a way to use some of the packaging styrofoam that can't be recycled.

Perfect project to put some Christmas cheer in your home.

It looks like a fun project for kids :)

looks like it might make a cute girl scout project

could be fun.

Sounds quick and easy, but the styrofoam static could be icky...

Sounds like some messy fun.

I think I may add a little silver glitter to mine!!!!

very pretty

these would be pretty in colors too

love the idea, I am thinking of doing some glass ornaments like this.

These look like they would be fun to make, but I agree with the idea of doing them outside. Good idea for Girl Scouts and/or Boy Scouts Troops. I can't wait to make them with my own grandchildren!

I think I would use something round to make snowballs.

wow these are def something i would try and make... now to get the bf to help me with these today....:) thanks for the giveaway:D

Oh my, my boys would LOVE to do this craft!! But, it looks like an outdoor type of thing to me. Good thing it's still warm here in Texas!!

These things are awesome! Finally something to do with the styrofoam that enters my house!

These were fun to do!!!

Sounds easy but messy LOL! But the results are very cool ... maybe this would be a good summer project to do outside and have ready for next winter ...

I am always looking for new crafts to create that have a snowy, frosty look to them. We don't always get much snow here, so I like to make my own snowy, white Christmas indoors.

I have someone saving me some wine bottles right now. This would be interesting to try and make. I wonder what else you can do with????????????

these are cute

Cute! Easy enough for a family craft...

what a great idea! and it sounds easy to do...would work with old baby food jars too - little snowballs :)

Wow! What an easy and fast project with so many possibilities!! Thank you for the ideas!! :0)

I'm normally a 'yarn' crafter, but this looks easier enough for even me to do! :)

Looks great!! The kids are going to love making this on the weekend!! thanskso much!

love this idea! & it is easy enough that it is something to do with the grandkids!

Cute, but I think I would like it better if it was spray painted after applying the styrofoam.

Sorry I don't do this type of craft; I'm commenting for the 12 days of Xmas prize...

How cute! and very simple to make. A bow around the neck of the bottle would add to it!

cool idea and many other possibilities! thx!

What a great Idea, i want to try it with a small bottle and maybe a fancy jar, wonder how it wold be with a Candle in a jart (flameless)

Thank you for the pattern. I hit the wrong Button and it cut me off. So I will finish. God's Blessins and a very Merry Christmas to ya'l.

Cute! And I like the idea below of making these into snowmen! Great teachers gifts, if given with a pretty flower...

This is an awesome idea and one I will be using...thanks so much!

I love finding new ways to make old wine bottles into new fun decorations. Thanks for another great new idea!!

I can't wait to finish my bottle of wine, then get all my stuff gathered up to make this with my granddaughters! They will love it....I might even have them add eyes and mouth to make a snowman type bottle!

Sounds like a fun and easy project - something my grandkids could do and would enjoy. This idea is definitely a keeper!

These are great! Very creative! This technique could probably be used on other things as well..

Very cute!

Love for a White Winter Theme ! Cant wait to try this !!!

I love these bottles. Fantastic idea ... I hope I have time to make some!

I think that this project would be interesting to make and especially with friends

I would not have thought to do that! Great way to reuse bottles!

What a fun idea! I love Sawarren's comment about making a snowman. I was thinking something similar. :) Add a little hat, scarf and face and you'll be set!

I can't wait to do this. I can do this with my granddaughter. What a cool idea. I'm to try to add food coloring to one of the bottles to see how that would work. One green, one red and leave the other white. Thank you so much for the idea.

These are so cute. I think I will try 3 baby food jars on top of each other and make a snowman.

Interesting. However, I could see my cat jumping in the bin and creating a huge mess.

I think they would be very cute with alittle flower in them...Then get some pretty sparkly ribbon put around them and make a bow! Put by the entrance door, and its a hit!

Pretty neat. I'd put Christmas lights inside

Looks like a fun craft to put on my list of crafts to suggest for kids in our city (parks department.) Right before Mother's Day for an inexpensive gift project.

I want to try this using baby food or other short jars & then put tea lites or flameless candles in them

These are really cute and would look beautiful with a lit candle inside. Thanks for the idea.

Too cute! terrik, thank you for that idea, I think this will be my new centerpiece!

I do story time at the library for pre-schoolers. I can see many possibilities to use this there. Thanks.

This would be a great project to work on while the weather is cold & the fire is warm. Just think of the colors you could make these!

What a great way to use up styrofoam!! :D

these would look great with bright colored lights behind them or a fireless candle put in them

Cute idea and very festive for the season.

OMG!! How adorable! Pretty holiday taper candles & some holiday flowers or greenery surrounding the bottles would definitely make this an awesome focal point for your holiday table!

I like the reuse of styrofoam, I think spraying them in different color would make nice gifts for other holidays, i.e. pink or red for Valentines Day, Green for St Patricks Day

These would look lovely with some holly branches!

These are a wonderful idea!

Oh my gosh! I love that someone thought of grating Styrofoam for a craft project! I'm always trying to find ways to recycle. Thanks.

That would be a cute idea for a centerpiece on the table with some silver balls with it,or to drill holes in the bottles and put in some lights

Cute, but it sounds messy :)

I would never thought of using grated Styrofoam for snow. What a cute idea.

Cute idea!

Looks cool. Sorry for the pun

Love the idea of upcycling, recycling and making something decorative for myself or as a gift!

Love re-cycling crafts.

Love the idea.

Super cute idea. They look so festive!

good idea!!

I used to make similar looking bottles with whipped wax. These seems much simpler.

Looks like a great project! Can't waite to try it

Great way to recycle the foam blocks that are used to ship goods. Keeps the styrofoam from landsfills!

Who would have thought I would be grating a foam block to make a snow bottle. Love it and having so much fun.

If you sprinkle with glitter at the same time, would it stick? How about some type of sealer-is it needed?

Also makes great snowmen. Use globe shapes vases either recycled or from the dollar store, follow instructions for bottles, final step highlight with glue and sprinkle with clear glitter. You can use colored glitter to add facial features.

Great idea! I love to recycle items when doing craft projects. I would probably add some color with a tag made with twine and recycled paper in the shape of a star, snowman or snowflake.

I love this project! Any recycle projects are great!

I never would have thought of grating Styrofoam to make "snow". Great idea!

I think they are fabulous! I agree some color would be nice but should be an easy adjustment to make. there are so many ways to recycle wine bottles and this is a great one!

This is a very nice idea, but I would like to see just a touch of colour somewhere.

Reduce, recycle, reuse, reimagine. This is perfect for those that have old wine bottles to reuse! Don't just throw them in the trash, make them pretty!
