I love this idea and it seems like a really great way to use up some old shirts. Could you put something at the back to make them a little more water resistant for dripples and spills? Also my sewing is not great yet could I still do this? Would hand sewing work instead of a machine?

That looks easy enough, even for me! I am out of old tshirts, but it looks like almost any material could be used. Has anyone tried using old plastic table cloths or runners to make things like this? Bibs or changing pads or things like that are nice when they are moisture proof.
