    Those turned out really pretty, but I think I would skip the burlap part altogether. The lace makes such a dainty embellishment that it stands very well on its own. I have never seen doilies as cheap as 35 cents each, but even at a premium price, that would be very pretty.

    Mother's Day is not far around the corner. Wouldn't this be a perfect gift for Mom. You could fill it with her favorite things whether it be candy, flowers or craft supplies. Afterwards the item could be used for it's intended purpose, a luminaries.

    I really thought that this would be a really involved project. The hardest part is deciding where to put these! I love this idea and I always have a few jars lying around. The bedside guest bedroom could use some tlc and this just may be the weekend project that I need to complete.

    I think these doily-wrapped jars would make great vases for flowers this Valentine's.
