Upcycled Tin Storage Containers
What better way to keep your kitchen clean than by making your own Upcycled Tin Storage Containers? This craft is so easy, you'll have new kitchen gear before you know it. Before you recycle your old tin storage containers, think of how much you can still get out of them. You can use them as storage containers for anything from sugar to cookies, or even as decorations. I typically keep all items that can be recycled and use them in some way in my home. I typically don't mind about the appearance of the outside of the container. This idea would certainly bring it all together so that the storage is not only useful but pretty.

I am kicking myself for disposing of those tins that I had accumulated during last Christmas. (cookies, candies and popcorn tins) I could have repurposed them and used them for storage instead of giving them to the thrift store. Well, I will keep them this year and have them for great storage tins next year.

I actually did one like this, but I didn't add the handle just didn't think of it. It worked out great. It turned a rather ugly old tin that didn't "go" with the room at all, into something that looked as if I had bought it especially for that room. I thought about decoupaging or adding a couple of designs, but haven't done that yet.

What a great idea. And yes I have seen some very similar ones at Target. If I can make them like this I will be very happy. They can be colored coordinated to my kitchen so it will have a custom look. I really appreciate this being offered and for free. Now I just need to remember where I stashed my old tins.

Cannot bring myself to throw out tins and then wonder what to do with them - this is ideal when painted they co-ordinate and look as if they began life as storage canisters. Brilliant idea - labels would make it easy to identify contents
