Pumpkin Handmade Ornament

Materials:
- Duncan® Concepts® Underglazes for Bisque
- CN 042 Bright Papaya
- CN 074 Really Red
- CN 232 Bright Briarwood
- Signature Brushes
- SB 806 No. 6 Round
- SB 807 No. 6 Fan Glaze
- Duncan® Pure Brilliance® Clear Glaze
- Paper towel
- Potter’s sponge
- Container for water
- Foil or foam plate for palette
- Stand to hold ornament
Instructions:
- Wipe ornament with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
- Remove hanger from ornament.
- Brush three coats Bright Papaya to ornament to create pumpkin base. Let dry.
- Use pencil to very lightly freehand lines on pumpkin.
- Mix a small amount of Bright Briarwood and a touch of Really Red into the Bright Papaya to create a deeper shade of red-orange.
- Using No. 6 brush, paint the pencil lines with above mixture. Dip brush in a little water and blend into the orange to create pumpkin segments. Repeat around ornament. Let dry.
- Create a darker shade by mixing Bright Briarwood with Really Red. Paint a line within the above shaded areas to add dimension to pumpkin segments.
- Pounce a light coat of Pure Brilliance to ornament. Let dry.
- Use ornament stilt to hold ornament in place. Fire to cone 06.
- Insert hanger.
