Who would have thought to use candy canes this way? Not me, that's for sure! I didn't realize they would soften when baked, but that makes sense and it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. I would be afraid they would fall off the tree form, but it looks like they stay put. I will have to try this on a smaller scale.
