I know what ill be making for Christmas this year and its very easy and quite thrifty. They would make the cutest little decorations for your mantle or even as a garland. Since they are open at the bottom, you would have to cover with light cardboard. The votive makes the paper trees glow so its perfect for that silent night themed party.

That is 'way interesting! Like I needed an excuse to buy more battery operated tea lights, but now I have one. I have a small plastic canvas Christmas village that needs lights and the addition of a few lighted trees made like these would be so awesome! I have to do it!

Such an easy project. This is a project that could be done in any art classroom from kindergarten to high-school and more. Instead of using colored paper, the tree design could be colored by the artist. That way the tree would be kept for decorations the following year.

These illuminated paper trees are too cute. I love that during the day, the tree has a whole different look than when the tea light is on. With this idea, you get twice as much for a little bit. At the end, you could either store them for next year or recycle.
