Country Christmas Garland with Homespun Fabrics

Going for a country feel with your homemade Christmas decorations this year? This Country Christmas Garland with Homespun Fabrics will fit right in! Find out how to make a cute Christmas tree garland by following this easy tutorial. String your fabric garland across your fireplace or along your staircase for an extra dose of country charm this Christmas!

Materials:

1 yard each of at least 2 homespun fabrics
Yarn or twine to gather
Sewing supplies

Instructions:

Cut homespun fabric into 4” wide (or desired width) strips.
Sew end to end to create 1 ½ to 2 times desired finished length.
Fringe on both sides of fabric by snipping about every ½ inch, 1 inch deep.
Place fabric strips together.
Sew yarn/twine down middle, pulling as you sew to gather slightly.
Wet slightly under running water.
Place in dryer.

That's simple enough! I have a lot of hand made ornaments, so a hand made garland would look just right, although I think you could use any fabric that you liked and it would come out just fine. This definitely goes on my to do list that I hope to finish before Christmas this year.
