I am not a big wax candle in a birthday cake person I always find more often then not the wax falls on to the cake and you are left picking it out...I never thought there might be an alternative, I will most definitely be trying this on the next birthday on my house!

How cute are these candles! I love the idea of making them for a big batch of cupcakes and putting them beside the main cake. I think it is an excellent way to keep everyone feeling special even if there is not enough cake for some reason. Kind of like a fail safe guaranteed to work. The best part is that these would be excellent for school parties for elementary students too.
